ON Friday 15 June, Fuga Veloce attended the charity event Dance For Life. This event was held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal on the last Friday of the Vivid Light show which was just spectacular. The aim of the night, and all the lead up activities was to raise money for charity ReachOut Australia.
I have to say, it was a BRILLIANT night. There were circus performers at the entrance doing some amazing things. Everyone was dressed up and really getting into the spirit of things. Even all the food was circus-themed with hot dogs, popcorn and fairy floss (alcohol & fairy floss combination was surprisingly fun!).
The whole point of the night was to support and cheer on the various companies who had formed dance troupes and had spent months and months learning a dance and raising money. I have to say, the performances were INCREDIBLE. The costumes and choreography were spot on and my guests and I really did enjoy ourselves.
Megan from TCW has truly out-done herself. Megan was responsible for taking an idea and creating an event attended by hundreds and raising over $300,000 for ReachOut Australia since they started. And every Dance For Life is getting bigger and bigger. I would love to be there when she cracks the $1M mark!! Fuga Veloce provided Megan with 2 60-minute Joy Rides around Sydney which she used to raffle off during the Side Show event before the main event, as well as to give to the best dressed on the night. We can’t wait to hear from the winners and take them for a drive in our Ferrari 360 spider. A well deserved treat for 2 people who support such a worthy cause.
So what is ReachOut Australia? ReachOut is an Australian-based online mental health organisation that focuses on helping young people and their parents through various mental health issues. Think things like bullying or study stress, ReachOut has an online tool to help child and provides supporting material for the parent. They have been in the online space for 20 years now and have really been able to see tangible results…. They help more than 1.58M people each year. That is just an amazing effort (wish I got that many website hits!!) and is an area that Fuga Veloce was more than proud to support.
